Has this been a real Alaskan winter or what? Finally, some snow! And as I write this I'm looking out the window at a new two inches of snow! Ah, but, I can stand in the greenhouse among the potted plants and shrubs, tweezing out seedlings and thumb my nose at winter. With any luck it will all be melted and the tulips and daffodils will continue their upward mobility! We have a fine sunny day for it so maybe I'll put out some cookies and tea, and break out the lawn furniture and garden books. I wonder if Martha Stewart has any music to garden by?
I hope you're anticipating this season's gardening as much as I am. Did you go overboard with the seed catalogs? It's okay. Don't let the Gardening Nanny Association curb your enthusiasm. Real gardener's ambitions grow like weeds. Besides, you can always put those seeds in a cool, dry place for next year. Heck, they may not have them in next year's catalogs anyway! Maybe we can all get together this fall and have a seed swap and gardener's support group. Eew, fall. Let's not go there. I was just getting excited about spring and now look where I am!
